Spring 2023
March is here and the grass in our fields is beginning to grow in spite of the snow and cold weather. The alpacas are going out to graze but care is taken that they begin with just a couple hours a day so they can acclimate to the new forage without problems. They have been on dry lot since November 1, 2022. We will begin mowing fields as soon as the rain stops long enough for them to dry out.
We have replaced the beautiful Cherry Trees that have lined our driveway for the last 33 years. I will miss the older larger ones with their lovely pink double blossoms but in a couple years the new will be just as beautiful.
The CABA Classic/AWE Alpaca Show and Auction will be held at the Yamhill Fairgrounds April 14th and 15th. We will take a few of our 2023 offspring to see how they fair.
Shearing begins May 1st and our babies will begin arriving around the first of June.
We are reducing our numbers by half as time creeps along. We will continue to enjoy the animals with fewer as we celebrate 36 years of raising these amazing animals.
