Honey Maple Farms

2021 has been a year of great opportunity for us at Honey Maple Farms! We were able to acquire 2 small herds of outstanding suri alpacas, and a few other outstanding females too, which bring us an awesome diversity of genetics to build on for the future. First, we made some great new friends at Santa Claus Alpacas. Dan and Lu are just wonderful folks and we are fortunate to acquire their last 6 females as they head towards retirement from the alpaca business after many years of successful breeding. These girls ALL come with great pedigrees and are proven producers. Double D Que Lita is a proven champion producer and her daughter, Frisco's Golden Girl, also shows a lot of promise! Other notables are Warrior's Signature, who produces outstanding crias, an appy girl, Taragon, and 2 of her female offspring. One is a true black daughter out of WLK Olympus. Next, we were able to acquire the Suri herd of Bijou Alpacas--14 in all! Their 2 herdsires, Pucara Pines Edge Kanui and Davinci's Pacesetter of Pines Edge will be great assets to our genetic base. Both have produced some outstanding crias ---we had already purchased Kanui's son, Kanui's Mysic of Bijou, earlier in the year. This male has phenomenal fleece and we are anticipating his first crias in 2022. In this purchase, we added the genetics of Kobe of PVA, Maxx MacGyver, Cloudypass' Peruvian Marcus, Montoyo of PVA, Jax Crossfire, Peruvian Silver Heat and Sierra Bonita's Peruvian Sniper. This purchase also included 4 beautiful crias born in 2021. Three are the first crias of Kahuna's Mondavi, who we purchased from Bijou Alpacas in 2020, the other is a female out of Kanui. These crias have added a pop of color to our mostly white herd and they are giving us some great options for the show ring in 2022!! Other areas of opportunity for us in 2021 are the addition of two outstanding black females from Angel Dreams Alpacas--H & S Rihanna and Angeldreams Kalligraphy. Both have Color Championships; Kalli was undefeated in the show ring in 2021 and won a Reserve Championship at the ABR Show, following in mom, Rihanna's, footsteps! These girls were selected to compliment our Champion black herdsire, Cinch of Pines Edge. A bonus for us--Rihanna comes with a female cria sired by Sir Oliver Twist of WAP...more outstanding genetics to build on! Last but not least by any means, we were able to acquire another outstanding white female to compliment our white program, Puresuri Lexus, from Michelle Alexander of Dakini Alpacas. Lexus is an amazing girl! She has top SHIP scores and consistently scores in the top 1% of EPDs at 11 plus years old. We are really looking forward to her contributions to our herd. We feel confident that she can help us push our white suri production to the next level! AND just for fun, we added another multicolored girl to see what we can produce in our appy/multi adventures. Jaguar's Raggedy Ann (Annie) is a fun girl who is always at our side. She has produced 2 outstanding females, both out of Modelo Especial, and we are excited to see what is next for her!
