A Gray't Year
Lorraine's Cria at 24 hrs
When you look at our herd now gray isn't an uncommon color to find. This year has been some remarkable gray break throughs for some foundation females in our herd.
It all started in September when our Balboa daughter, London's Lilly of Northern Lights, delivered her first cria. We had high expectations from our dark silver gray girl, but we were still very thrilled to discover that she delivered a dark silver gray tuxedo female!
Then in October, our first ever purchase, Ameripaca's Lorraine (white), delivered a beautiful medium rose gray female. Lorraine has had so many gray grand-crias and gray great-grand-crias yet never has had a gray cria of her own till this year. With Lorraine being a 2x grand champion winner herself, we know that Rachel Alexandra will win some ribbons too.
Lastly in November, we were expecting a cria from Brandy's Jordyn, a maiden. Brandy's Jordyn's dam, WRSR Peruvian Brandywine, was the dam of the first ever gray cria born in our herd, back in 2003. A couple of days ago, we were out late in the barn and were astonished to find Jordyn in labor. Jordyn delivered her first dark silver gray baby girl around 11:30 p.m. Ebby is Brandywine's first gray granddaughter.
We can't wait to take these special little gray's to the spring shows and are very anxious for what other great gray breakthroughs are in store for our herd.
