Description

Givenchy of PVA is a newly minted second generation Color Champion. He earned his Color Championship at the 2012 International Alpaca Odyssey in March.

Givenchy's dam is Giavanna of PVA. Giavanna's dam was PVA Godiva, a daughter of foundation female Peruvian Fawn Alli and sired by Cool Fire. Godiva was a half-sister to Color Champions Keanu of PVA (2001 Color Champion at AOBA Nationals and The Futurity); Keana of PVA (2003 AOBA Nationals Reserve Color Champion); and Fabuloso of PVA (2012 Reserve Color Champion at the IAO, SW Regional Alpaca Show, and Alpacapalooza!). On his dam's side, Givenchy is PVA royalty. He is dark brown--many of his maternal relatives are some shade of brown.

Givenchy's sire is 2011 Dark Herdsire of the Year recipient MacGyver's Balboa, winner of no less than 16 Color Championships, not including a 2008 Judge's Choice award for his fleece, as well as the prize for Best Lock. Balboa has sired numerous Color Champions for PVA. These include Imperial Princess of PVA, the 2011 IAO Supreme Color Champion; 6x Color Champion Testaverde of PVA; and FIFTH generation Color Champions Tahitian Black Pearl of PVA (incl. 2012 AOBA Nationals RCC) and Placido of PVA (2012 IAO and CABA RCC).

He began 2013 on the right note. He took the Suri Male Dark Reserve Color Championship at the IAO in Sacramento.
