Description
Penny's Coal Front is a beautiful true black herdsire, sired by Shasta Spring's Bachelor. His dam, Princess Penny, was out of Ameripaca's Lorraine, a two-time grand champion white female. Coal inherited his sire's phenotypical traits and strong lock structure.
Coal has been a great producer of only true black offspring, being bred to gray, black, and fawn females. Asher of Coal Front is a rising junior herdsire out of Coal. Asher boasts extreme density and very fine penciled locks. Asher's dam, Melody Mist's Eight Belles, is a full sister to our light rose gray herdsire, Rosemont.
Coal's 2022 fleece was sent to the CALPACA Autumn Fleece Extravaganza and the PNAA IFA Fleece show. Judges feedback from both shows commented on the consistency and uniformity of his regrowth. Coal also received high marks for the handle of his fleece. Coal received second place at CALPACA and first place in Grade 4 at the PNAA fleece show, with a score of 69.5. He just edged out Sandusky, our medium brown herdsire, who received second place in Grade 4 at PNAA. At almost eight years of age, Coal's fleece is averaging 26.2 microns.
