Zapotta placed first in the Get of Sire Class of seven at the 2014 CABA Classic where he was competing against the accomplished Accoyo Peruvian Rockstar, Chakotah's Wyuna, MacGyver's Balboa and Accoyo Rico, just to name a few of the notable herdsires represented!
We have worked very hard on our breeding program to achieve this win. Our goal has always been to breed healthy robust animals, with the best fleeces possible. To be above these well known and accomplished herd sires was an honor and also a testament to our hard work. These farms always bring their best and we did as well this time.
Zapotta is exceptionally handsome in every way, from his exquisite luster to his gorgeous head. His pedigree is coveted and even at 7 months he won Color Championship in halter at VAOBA in Virginia over the famed Chakotah.
His sire is Macgyver that has won “Dark Suri Herd Sire of The Year” 7 years in a row. His mother was the famous Picabo De Kolorado, that produced Multi-Champion offspring.
His temperament is gentle and his appearance is stunning. He is the full brother to Sierra Bonita’s Sargent Pepper that sold in 2006 for $132,000. He is also full brother to Hotazel and Macgyvers Mojo.
His full sister is Sierra Bonita’s Peruvian Gypsy, was the 2nd highest selling female at the AOBA National auction in 2008.
Zap has the fleece (2014 fiber was still Super Fine) and 8 years of age, continues to have consistent fleece growth.
He has the look and the perfect temperament for a great Herdsire. He has black skin and toenails and lots of color producing potential.
Zapotta's breedings are now closed but you can choose from his available kids; they are exceptional with their perfect conformation covered by fleece that has density, locks and luster.
