Ourselves: We are Jackie Mathiason and Brad Dean
Our work: Jackie is a program manager overseeing a team of software testers. Brad is a quality assurance and safety engineer for a minority-owned company.
Our passion: In 2006 we purchased our first alpacas: two pregnant females. Today we have a combined herd of 32 Huacayas and Suris.
Throughout the years we have incorporated in-house processing of our fiber to fuel our passion for crafting wearable art and opened a small boutique featuring our handcrafted products.
Our Boutique: In the beginning, we used fiber from our alpacas to handcraft items that were easy to wear and easy on the environment. Not only did we use our own fiber but we processed much of it right on the farm – talk about a low carbon footprint! Traveling to local fairs and festivals to market our wares was not as earth friendly as we would have liked.
Today our specialty is custom, handcrafted wearable art. Let us create a piece of art for your very own. Visitors are welcome at Alpaca Road – it’s a journey worth taking.
