TORBIO was an original in every sense of the word. He was one of the original Accoyo Suri herdsires hand-picked by Don Julio Barreda and introduced to the U.S. by Nola Graham. He was the "REAL THING"!
Torbio had tremendous presence. He was very proud of himself, and although he was smallish in stature, he commanded the respect of all the other males in the pasture. He was also one of the last males to survive from that importation, finally succombing to mortality at 21.5 years old. Even at his advanced age, Torbio had a bright glint in his eye, and a spring in his step.
He is best known for his ability to pass his outstanding traits to his progeny. Even on his last day, Torbio's fleece had blinding luster and that greasy feel that we all strive for. He has reproduced himself over and over, with well over 200 offspring registered. He produced champions in the show ring until July of 2011, throwing his luster, lock and density with great regularity.
In 2006, Our Peruvian Accoyo Rockstar won Suri Herdsire of the Year, and his Pop, Torbio, took Reserve Suri Herdsire of the Year! Those are powerful genetics!
Although Torbio is no longer breeding, we have the highest concentration of Torbio genetics anywhere in the world. If you are looking for Torbio genetics, give us a call. We will be offering several of his offspring, for sale on an ongoing basis. Contact Cindy at 805-907-5162 or email me at [email protected]

Description
Love this guy! Stellar genetics that are apparent in his appearance and by his placing in top 1-15% EPDs in the categories important to the fleece industry.
His sire, the legendary Torbio. His dam, Luminaria, gave birth to Storm Front, who has produced exceptional, champion and award-winning progeny also. She was sired by NGG Accoyo Apache II who was an awesome Accoyo of color. We entered Storm as a mature male and he took a 1st place with nice comments from the judge on his solid, sturdy conformation while still maintaining nice luster and fineness for his age.
Storm Warning EPD's 2014 he ranked 24 out of over 3,863 males in the country in SDAFD (uniformity) now he is 39 out of 5175. Top 15% in AFD (fineness) top 5% fleece weight and staple length.
Add to that, his first crias were stunning. Nice & brawny with loads of lovely shiny, fine, dense fleece. Pictured at right his first cria born out of Rockstar's Accoyo Pat Benetar. We just love the sturdy cria born that hit the ground running and wrinkles indicating dense fiber to come.
Given Storm's beige coloring, we thought that he may let color of dam pass, so he was bred to a black dam of Alpacas at Windy Hill last summer and he threw black!
Let us know if you are interested in seeing this guy.
